Lately, B has been so serious in all of his pictures. I take out the camera, and he immediately looks like this:

Sometimes I think that there isn't much difference between a baby and a puppy.

He cracks me up.

Loving fall

This year it seemed like fall was never going to come. I'm so excited that it is finally here, and it's been a beautiful year. I took C and B to Aldridge Botanical gardens one morning for a short "hike." The air was crisp and the sun was filtering through the bright leaves and reflecting of the still water. It was a great day to be out.

Georgetown Lake Park

Once again, V had school off on R's birthday, so we celebrated his birthday by going to the park without him. It was a beautiful fall day with crisp leaves...


And ducks with mohawks.


We spent some time feeding the ducks and the fish.


Apparently I don't feed C enough, because he would feed a duck,

then himself.


B thought this was serious.


We enjoyed the playground and our friends.

But of course, the best part was playing in the water...

and with sticks.

And really, what's better than that?

What is it with kids and couch cushions?

Because sometimes I want to sit down...

Just a little slap happy...

V and I were playing catch with a paper airplane. B found this hilarious.

Another first...

I always like it when the kids get old enough to sit up in the grocery cart. It seems to make shopping so much easier, and they seem to enjoy it much more.

That is unless they have an older brother who tends to make the experience a little terrifying.

Go Jets!

Another soccer season has come and gone. V looks forward to his practice/game every week. He's old enough now that they are introducing positions and a little strategy. It's fun to watch him try to think things through and figure out where he's supposed to be.


His team was the Jets. They won some and lost some, and V scored some goals.


But the best part of all was getting a medal and having the traditional hot dog party.

Fall Fun Run

V's school had a 1 mile fun run as part of their Fall Festival activities, so we decided to run it as a family. R and V took off right away, as I pushed the baby and followed C.

C lasted about a third of the way before he was too tired and joined B in the stroller. He then enjoyed pointing out all the pumpkins.


V finished quickly enough to get a blue ribbon. R said he was impressed that V ran most of the way.

After the run, the boys got water and bagels, which were thoroughly enjoyed.

Aren't my boys cute?

Oh yeah - I was there too.

I know what we're going to do today...

Dress up like Phineas and Ferb!

This year we thought it would be fun to do a family theme, so we all dressed up like characters from Phineas and Ferb. It's a cartoon from the Disney channel that we all enjoy. If you haven't seen it yet, here are some pictures:



Here's a rundown of some of our Halloween happenings:

Halloween Playgroup -

I let C dress up how he wanted. It was a super/shark/monster combination. We had fun playing with friends and eating mummy dogs.


Our ward's Trunk or Treat and carnival -

We all dressed up and had fun playing games at the carnival.


We got our picture taken together, though you can't really tell who we're supposed to be.


Then R took the boys trunk or treating in the rain while I stayed dry with the baby. The boys hair color ran off onto their costumes. I'll let you in on a little FYI, the green doesn't come out very easily. If you get to choose hair color, go for the orange. It washed out much better. (And after repeated washings and a haircut, C's hair is still looks a little on the fluorescent side).


Pumpkin Carving -

This is one of the boys' favorite activities.


Daddy helped C out.


C thought it was hilarious to take the lid on and off.

I helped V, though we let him do a lot of it himself this time.




B got to watch.

We always carve our pumpkins right before Halloween, because 2.5 days later they look like this:


Yeah, you don't get growth like that in Utah. Are y'all jealous?



Fall Festival -

V's school puts on a Fall Festival every year. It's their only fundraiser, and it's a big deal. The kids loved going. They got to ride rides:




After which, they were given candy. A combination that is not for the faint of heart.


B got to hang around, as usual.


The two boys had a blast. It was fun seeing V help C out. I'm glad he's not too old to be seen with his little brother.


We didn't go trick or treating this year. I don't think the boys missed it though, they were already partied out.
