You have to have ones like this to show the future girlfriends, right?

August zoo trip
C and I went to the zoo with our playgroup in August. It was a bit strange as this was the first time we didn't take V. C missed his brother but loved the zoo. He really loves animals.
"Horsey zebras"

C could just sit there and watch the animals forever. He got a little frustrated when we kept moving along with the rest of the group.
His favorite - "Giraps"

We spent a lot of time in the butterfly enclosure.
"Fly"
"Tops" (As in triceratops. He doesn't believe me that it's a rhino.)

"Monkney."

Camping with the fam
While in Utah, we were able to go camping with the family up near Logan. I enjoyed hanging out with my siblings, and the boys had a blast with their cousins.

We went canoeing and swimming at the reservoir.

V tried to drown me. Apparently, the life jackets don't work unless they keep the entire upper half of your body out of the water.

There was a creek that ran behind the campsite. The boys spent a lot of time there throwing rocks. C really liked it and was adamant about walking up stream. My feet were numb by the time I was able to drag him out.

C getting shown some of the wildlife (a worm):

I keep looking at all these pictures of the younger cousins playing together, and I think that not too long from now, we'll look back and wonder where all the years went.

What the????
I went to Costco the other day and they were selling sleds. In Alabama. I guess it did snow an 1/8 of an inch that one day...
Happy belated birthday
Yeah, so V had his birthday way back in July. Better to post late than never, right?
V opted for a dinosaur theme this year which was a lot of fun. About 3 months in advance, he told me that I could pick out his cake and his pinata. Add some balloons and some friends, and it is definitely a party.

We played lots of fun games. Here is pin the horn on the triceratops:

We dug for fossils:

V got to pick out his balloons all by himself. Yes, he's a total hottie.

Time to blow out the candles...

Present time!

C checking to see if anything got left behind...

And finally, the pinata. V was the only one that had to do it blind folded.

I even got a turn.

Afterwords, the kids pummeled the remains of the pinata until there was nothing left.

Thanks to everyone who helped make V's day so special. He had so much fun with his cousins and his "Utah friends." He still asks (almost everyday) when it's going to be his birthday again.
