Oak Mountain fun

R had July 3 off, so we headed down to Oak Mountain State Park for a little hiking and swimming. V did the entire 2.5 mile hike by himself. His favorite part of the hike was throwing rocks in the creek. I can't believe how long he can entertain himself while doing that.










C also liked throwing rocks into the creek. He didn't like it when I wanted to take a picture of him and his brother. I know, I'm a mean mom.







The kids like the beach most of all. V played in the sand while C dumped buckets of water on himself. I took C out swimming with me and he loved it. Every time I moved towards the shore, he would scream and point back out to the lake. He has become quite the fish.

If C wants something, he goes and gets it. This, combined with his climbing talent has left few C-free zones in our house.

The other day R found him sitting on the bean bag eating Cheetos. I put those on a high shelf in our pantry. I don't want to know how he obtained them.


Here he is sneaking a cookie off of a still hot pan. Yep, we've got our hands full.

Wipey balls

Introducing V's new invention: Wipey Balls.

According to V, you have to cover the ball with a wipey and make sure that no green is showing. Then you tear of the extra wipey.

Talladega

We made our first trip to Talladega last weekend. We didn't see any races, but we did play a lot of frisbee. It was our league's mid-season tournament.

We had to bring our own shade as there wasn't any. It was hot (102 degrees according the sign that we passed on our way home) and humid. We played three 1.5 hour games, with 1-2 subs depending on the game. I've never consumed so much water in my life.

We didn't win any games, and the heat was miserable, but we had fun anyway. (Which is good, because we are going to have to do this again in August).

R found this huge moth on the wall outside our apartment. I have no idea what kind of moth it is, but it looked cool.

V's Father's Day gift

V was so excited for Father's Day. I hadn't even mentioned the holiday, but V wanted to decorate the house and make something for Daddy two weeks before the day. We decided to make him a tie. I did the sewing and V did the decorating. It turned out really cute. V used lots of red because that was Daddy's favorite color. He also drew him working out, some scriptures, and a rainbow.

V woke up way early. He didn't want to let R sleep in, as he was too excited to give him the gift. He kept asking me why Daddy wasn't awake yet.

Roman blinds
